Latrice Colvin, 32, of Bridgeport, pleaded guilty in district court in New Haven to one count of mail fraud related to a credit card fraud scheme.
Between September 2015 and July 2017, Colvin used the Internet, including the dark web, to obtain the personal identifying information of several victims. She then contacted the credit card companies, used that information and changed the mailing addresses on certain accounts to her own.
When the fraudulently obtained credit cards were mailed to her address, Colvin used them to purchase merchandise in person and online, and to obtain cash advances at ATMs.
After pleading guilty, Colvin was released on a $25,000 bond. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 5, when she will face a maximum term of up to 30 years in prison.
